Before Your Peel
Preparation is essential for a safe and effective peel outcome. At Distinction Health and Beauty, each patient undergoes a pre-peel conditioning phase, typically lasting two to four weeks. This involves using Medik8 home-care products containing Vitamin C (morning) and Vitamin A (evening) to strengthen the skin barrier and regulate cell turnover.
During the Treatment
Your clinician will cleanse and prep the skin before applying the selected peel. You may experience mild tingling or warmth as the active acids penetrate the upper layers of the epidermis. The peel remains on the skin for a controlled period before being neutralised. The entire process takes approximately 30–45 minutes.
After Your Peel
Post-treatment, mild redness or dryness is common for 24–48 hours. In some cases, light flaking may occur as old skin cells shed. Medik8’s Ultimate Recovery and Calmwise products are recommended to soothe and protect the skin during recovery.
Avoid active ingredients (retinoids, exfoliants, Vitamin C serums) for 3–5 days post-procedure. Sunscreen use is mandatory, as the skin will be more photosensitive following exfoliation.
The Results
Over the following weeks, the skin becomes visibly smoother, brighter, and more refined. Collagen production continues to increase, improving elasticity and overall skin resilience.
