How does it work?

RF works on the principle of positive electrons flowing deep into the dermal layers of the skin and back to a negative pole. This process is completely pain free but creates enough friction to effectively build heat in those deeper layers. This heat has a 3 fold effect:
- it dissolves lipids (fat) which are then eliminated from the body - it stimulates fibroblasts to produce fresh collagen - it effectively stretches out aged collagen allowing a tightening and toning effect on the skin. The treatment is great for fat reduction (inch loss), tightening of loose skin on face and body, deep and superficial wrinkle reduction and the treatment of cellulite. While IPL and other light technologies claim to have similar actions in stimulating collagen, they tend to lose their power as the light enters the skin, i.e. the skin provides resistance to the light. Results tend to be limited due to this or high amounts of energy are necessary risking burning the skin. The beauty of RF is that it uses the skin's resistance to create the friction necessary for the treatment to be effective!!! This also means that lower levels of energy are required making the treatment safer than many other techologies on the market today. The results from this treatment are usually seen immediately and the treatment can continue to work on fat up to 8 weeks. A course of treatments is required. |
